Welcome to Northside Elementary!
Haitian Relief
Student Initiated Challenge to help Haitian Neighbors in Distress

2 week challenge
1. Students have suggested that we daily have available a collection jar for students willing to contribute their change to the relief support work for our Haitian neighbors. Talk to your child to make sure that what they bring is ok with you. We will have a collection center provided daily for 2 weeks beginning Monday, January 25.
1 day challenge
2. On Wednesday, January 27, our school district’s students will dress in red, white, blue or camouflage to support our armed forces. We usually walk around the school in the morning on Wednesdays in support of the CATCH program for healthy Texas children, so we will put up a challenge to you, family and friends of Northside.

See our donation form for information on how to donate.

On behalf of the staff at Northside Elementary, we welcome you to our campus! We are excited about this educational journey that we are about to begin with your child and look forward to sharing the year with you. At Northside Elementary our goal is to ensure that all children are successful in all that they do and that we remember to have fun along the way.

Love Lines (25 words, characters count as a word) can also be purchased for an additional $5. Along with the love lines, you will need to include student’s name, teacher and grade. Love lines ARE NOT payable online. You may order your yearbook online at www.jostensyearbooks.com. If you are writing a check please make it payable to Northside PTO and include your driver’s license.
Dads At the Door provides a Dad at the entrance of school each weekday to greet the students. We will provide a welcoming smile and positive, gentlemanly example. We will show the kids that we value them and their education. For some kids, this may be the first smile they see each day. For all kids, this will be a great example of service and concern for them.
Learning with Technology
Mrs. King's class recently used our new net books. We now have access to a computer lab on wheels. Mrs. King's 2nd graders went online and practiced their 2 digit addition with regrouping. At Northside we strive to incorporate technology into our classrooms to prepare our students for the 21st Century.
We Love Recycling
Our students love helping our school and our planet. Our students saved 223 lbs. of paper from being thrown away and recycled it instead. Not only do we help save a tree, we also earn money for our school through the paper recycling program.
